22 Child labourers rescued in Shahapur

Yadgir: Child labour eradication officials conducted lightning raids on the hotels, grocery shops and wine shops at Shahapur town and rescued 22 child labourers found working in the shops.

Shahapur Tasildar M.Rachappa, Block Education officer Rayappareddy, Labour office Ravindra and CDPO Muniraju led team issued notices to the shop owners who employed the child labourers. The officials registered a case against the shop owner under the Child Labout Act.

Meanwhile, the parents who also arrived at the raid spot appealed to the officials to release their children. They said that they fail even to earn daily bread when all the members of the family work everyday.

The government too had not provided any facility so far. Therefore the children should be let free, they urged. However, the officials went ahead as per the rule, the villagers said.
