Yadgir: Instead of getting carries away by advertisements,
consumers should check a product’s quality and get other required information
before making a purchase, said Prinicipal District and Sessions Judge Hanchate
Sanjeevkumar.
He
was speaking after inaugurating the World Consumers’ Day organized by District
Administration, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and
District Legal Service Authority at Vidya Mangal Karyalaya in Yadgir on Monday.
Do not cheat
Traders
should not cheat consumers to make quick money. Instead they should earn the
confidence of their customers by giving less stress on making huge profits.
The
consumers too should never buy things in black market. They should be sure of
what they are buying, he said.
Be aware
Deputy
Commissioner Gurneet Tej Menon said that when people get cheated, they should
be aware of consumer rights.
Every
consumer should develop the habit of verifying the authenticity of the claims
of advertisements, which are shown in media everyday.
Instead
of symbolically observing World Consumers Day by the government, if each
consumer observes the day, the Day will become more meaningful, she said.

B.V.Bhosle said that the consumer cases should be solved within 150 days and
released a handbook on consumer’s rights published by Food and Civil Supplies
Department.

watkar, Ganj Merchants Association President Babu Dhoka, Food, Civil Supplies
and Consumer Affairs Deputy Director T.Muhammad and others were present.
