Basavarajeshwari Patil, who visitied the district hospital in Shahapur on
Thursday, receiving complaints from the patients.
Yadgir:
Zilla Panchayat president Basavarajeshwari Patil expressed displeasure over
maintenance of the hospital on Thursday.
She
made a surprise visit to the Shahapur Taluk Government hospital and went around
different wards to take stock of the situation.
She
pulled up the hospital authorities for poor sanitation in the hospital wards,
particularly gynaecology, female surgery, orthopaedic, burns and other wards.
She
asked Taluk Health Office and to maintain minimum sanitation in the hospital.
Many patients complained about bad smell coming out from the garbage, which is
not cleared days together.
Some
of the patient’s even request to discharge them as conditions in the hospital
was unbearable. She said the DHO should take up surprise checks once in a week
to keep sanitation in and around the hospital.
She also said that he would speak with the District
in-charge minister and Deputy Commissioner with regard to up gradation of the
hospital.
