Yadgir: Fruits and Vegetable growers have been facing the market problem, therefore the organizations such as Hopcoms should purchase produces directly from farmers and chalk out helpful programmes for them, said Taluk Panchayat President Sharanamma Kawaldar.

She was speaking after inaugurating Entrepreneurship training programme organized for Taluk Panchayat, Horticulture Department at Bachawar village in Yadgir taluk on Sunday.

The growers have been facing the major problem of marketing. Though they grow varieties of crops after spending huge amount of money, the returns they get would be meager. The major portion of the profit goes to the middlemen who encash the condition of the farmers. The farmers as well as the consumers have been incurring loss. Such problem should be solved to help the farming community, she said.

Bhimarayanagudi Agricultural College Professor Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, Professor Dr. Mallikarjun Angnal, Horticulture Department Taluk office T. Sidanna, TP Vice-President Shamala Varad and others were present.
