Yadgir: The Information Department has organized the
Seven-day Siddi Damami and Pugadi dance performances in the district undar the
tribal programme.

Cultural programme at Rangampet in Surpur taluk on Tuesday evening.
He
opined that the folk art forms have been vanishing due to lack of encouragement
to the artists. The folk was the base for all art forms and the folk forms
should be promoted, the said.
Kannada
Sahitya Parishat member Nagappa Thevedi, Manikappa Boda, Information Department
Deputy Director G.Chandrakanth and others were present on the occasion.
Girish
Siddi and troupe from Devarakallahalli in Yallapur taluk of Uttara Kannada
district performed the Damami and Pugadi dances of the tribal community.
